Philosophy as a Consultant
"I love screenwriters. I am one. I love screenwriters because we are imaginative, creative, and brave. We dare to share our dreams with the world. We put our work out there and ask others - strangers even - how to make it better. We put our heart into our work and then we put it in again and again as we rewrite. Yes, rewrite.

My goal is to help you get the strongest version of your story on paper. As an objective reader, I can function not only as a sounding board, but I can also help you shape your story so it's ready for Hollywood. I've learned that even though each story is unique, the main issue we as writers face is universal: How do we tell the story that's in our imagination so clearly and so engagingly that the reader can't put it down? It's my job to help you bring that level of excitement to your story. And I love doing it." - Julia Bergeron

Testimonials
"Julia really knows how to read a script. She can nail all the basics of formatting and style, but she's also really good at asking the right questions, to make sure you tell the story you want to tell and that your script can rise to its fullest potential. She seems to read as if wanting to like a script, which is nice, but she's not afraid to tell you when something isn't working." - Bears Fonte, "icrime" and "The North Puddle"

"Julia is truly inspirational in her script review. She cuts to the source of the story's weak points and follows it up with great suggestions and insights, especially with regards to character development. Her points were presented with a proactive point-of-view and of believing that the project was going into production and not just going to be developed forever. With this reviewing perspective, for a producer like myself, she comes at it with the same intention as my own when trying to get a script into production, which is very rare in our business." - Michael Hamilton-Wright, writer/producer.

"I wrote to you after my first consultation with Julia and told you how much I enjoyed working with her. I've since submitted two more screenplays to her and have only the utmost admiration for what she does.
I have used many consultants over the past few years and can honestly say I find her work and methods to be the best. Her written analysis is extremely detailed and gives the writer a lot to think about and work with. I could tell she totally understood what I was trying to do. She pointed out where the story was weak and where it was strong. Sometimes I felt she knew the characters as well or better than I did.
Julia is so easy to talk to because she loves what she does and is amazingly good at it. She is intelligent, personable and innovative. Thank you Script Savvy for bringing her to my attention."
- Bill Johnston

"Julia Bergeron's script consultation was excellent. She really takes the time to read and give great notes/insights on a script. It was a total pleasure to work with someone who is so giving and professional. Thank you!" - David Horwitz

"I'm very impressed. Your grasp of my story both big and small is indicative of your professionalism. I wish to thank you for the extra work you've put into the project. It definitely shows. You've exceeded my expectations." - Patrick McGough, "The Foreclosure"

"I read your comments with great interest and excitement. I'm gratified you enjoyed reading it, recognize the progress, validate what really works and, also, where it doesn't and what needs to shift structurally to make it so much better... I want to acknowledge and thank you for your clarity and superb vision. You present it with such thoughtfulness and compassion that your feedback is instantly accessible. Can't wait for you to read the re-write. I'm on fire with ways to make it so much better." - Jeff Cotton, "Little Dragon: The Boy Who Came Home"

"I think your notes are spot on; I've been grappling with the first act for a long time, and it's not where I need it to be yet. This is really going to help me attack it again. And I'm glad you found the rest of it as enjoyable as you did. I needed some encouraging words on this because I've been working on it for a while and I'm blind to it at this point. I owe you." - Colin Brownlie, "Shrinknapped"
